NSX & Network Operations

Phase: Post-Deployment (Day 2+)

This guide is the lab runbook for NSX Day 2 configuration and VCF Operations for Networks validation.

1. Targets in this lab

• NSX Manager VIP: nsx.pgnet.io
• VCF Ops for Networks (Platform): opsnet.pgnet.io
• VCF Ops for Networks (Collector): opsnetcol.pgnet.io

2. Prerequisites

• Part 4 completed (Identity + certificates), and NSX is healthy.
• BGP peering and north/south connectivity are validated (see Part 4).

3. NSX Day 2 (high level)

• Validate edge cluster and T0/T1 status.
• Validate BGP adjacencies and route advertisement.
• Validate VPC connectivity once Automation is in use.

4. VCF Operations for Networks

4.1 Access and identity

• Confirm UI access for opsnet.pgnet.io.
• If SSO is enabled for the Operations suite, confirm AD groups can log in.

4.2 Collector health

• Confirm the collector (opsnetcol.pgnet.io) is connected and collecting flows.

4.3 Basic validation

• Confirm vCenter and NSX are onboarded as data sources.
• Confirm flows/events appear after generating network activity.
